Dr Melody Kong

Trainee Clinical Psychologist

Dr Melody is a trainee clinical psychologist who conducts psychological assessments and provides therapeutic interventions with individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults. She is dedicated to working with diverse populations and offers culturally-sensitive care tailored to each individual’s unique needs. She is flexible in the delivery of psychotherapy through various therapeutic modalities, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and/or other modalities that are relevant to the needs of the client with the belief that a person-centred approach is essential for successful intervention.

In her work, she is committed to ensuring a thorough evaluation of the client's behavioural and emotional states through observations, discussions, and assessments of individual capabilities via a careful selection of assessment tools to diagnose and treat disorders holistically. She believes that every client’s experience is valid and deserving of recognition. Thus, she aims to create a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and empowered.

• Mood disorders such as depression and anxiety

• Personality disorders

• Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder

• Obsessive-compulsive disorder

• Self-harm and suicidal ideation

• Neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism, ADHD, and learning disorders

• Master of Clinical Psychology – Taylor’s University (Ongoing)

• Doctor of Philosophy (Psychology) – Monash University

• Bachelor of Psychological Science and Business (Psychology) (Hons) – Monash University
